As I write, the trees outside are waving frantically at me through my window. A crow just blew past. It’s no surprise that people want to be on holiday somewhere else. But I don’t know about you, I just can’t feel excited about overseas travel at the moment. I don’t think I’m leaving this country any time soon.

But I am moving the newsletter. I’ll be packing you all up in my suitcase and we’re off to [Ghost](https://ghost.org/features/?ref=changeout.org). It’s likely to take a couple of weeks to migrate us all over there. Think of it as taking the Queen Mary on a 14 day trip from [London to New York](https://www.cunard.com/en-gb/cruise-destinations/transatlantic-cruises?otprrf=https%5Fwww.google.com%2F&ref=changeout.org) \- only without all the hassle. For you, my friends, anyway. You don’t have to do anything. Just sit back, relax, and flick through the onboard dining menu.

The idea is to amalgamate the weekly email and all the lovely archive of past issues PLUS my [ChangeOut web site](https://www.changeout.org/). It’ll be handy to have everything in one place and the platform will also make it easier to publish guest writers which I’m keen to do.

In the meantime here’s a look back at some of my favourite past newsletters for those who might have missed them.

[This one](https://www.changeout.org/because-normal-was-the-problem) ranks highest in number of likes. Thank you to [Paul de Gregorio](https://twitter.com/pauldegregorio?ref=changeout.org) for the postcard.

And these are two of my favourite titles: [Bustin' makes me feel good](https://www.changeout.org/bustin-makes-me-feel-good-) and [History despite its wrenching pain](https://www.changeout.org/history-despite-its-wrenching-pain).

If you’ve heard of the [Bechdel Test](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bechdel%5Ftest?ref=changeout.org) \- a measure of the representation of women in fiction which asks whether a work features at least two women who talk to each other about something other than a man, you might know of the graphic artist, Alison Bechdel, who named it.

I found the archive of her long-running comic strip, [Dykes to Watch Out For](https://dykestowatchoutfor.com/?ref=changeout.org), online the other day. [Here’s the very first one](https://dykestowatchoutfor.com/dtwof-archive-episode-1/?ref=changeout.org) from 1987.

**Interesting and useful links** 🖇️

I loved this blog post by Kate Nash of Purple Space: [The gift of an ally](https://www.purplespace.org/home?myhub&selected=5743&ref=changeout.org)

“Being an ally shouldn’t be an overwhelming commitment that consumes lots of time and energy. It really is the small steps that make all the difference.”

And I thought [this](https://www.nurturedevelopment.org/blog/experts-experience-experienced-beyond-expertise/?ref=changeout.org) was a thought-provoking blog challenging use of the term ‘expert by experience’

**Day of the Week 📆**

It was World Bee Day this week and [here’s why you should celebrate](https://www.npr.org/2021/05/20/998618202/why-you-should-celebrate-world-bee-day-today?ref=changeout.org). Let’s hear it for the pollinators.

**What am I reading? 📚**

I’ve just started reading [Stamped from the Beginning](https://uk.bookshop.org/books/stamped-from-the-beginning-the-definitive-history-of-racist-ideas-in-america/9781847924957?ref=changeout.org) by Ibram X. Kendi. It traces the evolution of anti-Black racist ideas from the 15th century to now.

**What am I watching?** 👀

I love love love the animation in this video. It’s astonishing. The artist is Lynn Tomlinson and you can find her work [here](https://www.lynntomlinson.com/?ref=changeout.org).

**What am I listening to?👂**

This is a great radio programme (I refuse to call it a podcast!) on the BBC Sounds app about the story of [The Fight Of The Century - Ali v Frazier](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p098x0n4?ref=changeout.org).

**Joy-giving things 😍**

I had a wonderful trip to [Lake Vyrnwy](https://www.lake-vyrnwy.com/?ref=changeout.org) last week. I spent a lot of time looking out at the sky.

Have a lovely weekend.
