With no children, siblings, Caldicott ends with me. This branch anyway. As I've got older, I find myself increasingly thinking about what comes after me, wanting to leave some sort of physical trace. Last year I got a very small oak tree sapling which is currently looking pretty happy in its pot on the patio. One day I'd like to buy a field to plant it in. In the meantime, I was pleased to visit the [Heart of England Forest](https://heartofenglandforest.org/?ref=changeout.org) the other week. The team there are planting many trees in many fields. And, of course, there's this newsletter which will always be here, making a bit of a difference, I hope. --- We're mid way through Pride month and I thought [this](https://metro.co.uk/2022/06/09/what-is-white-gay-privilege-16777296/?ref=changeout.org) was a really important article explaining white gay privilege and why UK Black Pride came into being. According to [this report](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-51497280?ref=changeout.org), 61% of LGBT+ people from ethnic minorities have experienced racism through online dating apps or in person. [This](https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/white-gay-privilege-exists-all-year-it-particularly-hurtful-during-ncna1024961?ref=changeout.org) article also explores how Pride month can feel a white, gay focused event, disconnected from the lives of Black LGBT+ people. This is something that white LGBT+ people need to understand, confront, and eliminate within our community - if we're to truly be a community.
