Earth is now our only shareholder
Putting back what we take out

A couple of months ago the family who founded and still owned the outdoors company, Patagonia, gave it away. It's an interesting story. They considered and rejected various alternative forms of ownership before coming up with a plan to safeguard the company's conservation mission into perpetuity by setting up a charitable foundation and gifting all the shares to it so that “every dollar that is not reinvested back into Patagonia [will] be distributed as dividends to protect the planet.”
I love the idea of the driving force of the company being to reinvest profits back into conserving the planet for the future. I had a look at Patagonia's home page. I really like the four navigation choices: Shop, Activism, Sports, Stories.

Plus the inherent message embedded into their business model of buying products that will last generations. This isn't an ad, honest!
Channel 4 held an online Inclusion Festival last month: Altogether Different. You can access all the content by registering.
I watched Krishnan Guru-Murthy's excellent keynote speech making a case for inclusion to be a continued programme of work. This message is applicable to all industries, not just broadcasting.

Joy-giving things 😍
I had a quick trip to London this week. It gave me so much joy to be there as a visitor and seeing this statue always lifts me up.

Have a great weekend.
